I’m very excited to welcome ANOTHER Emily onto the podcast today!
One of the most beautiful things about Emily is she’s very clear on what she wants to do with her life. She always knew she was meant to be in agriculture – she really is her happiest and freest self when she’s involved with the farm. Emily has been super intentional about following her passions and choosing to do work that lights her up, instead of staying stuck in a traditional job that did just the opposite. She continues to do a variety of work in agriculture, and she loves showing others a complete 360 view of what life can look like in this space.
Emily is laser-focused on building a life with intention, and she is totally your go-to girl when it comes to agriculture and farm life. She is all about redefining rural-ish living and cultivating change in our world today. I know you’re absolutely going to LOVE hearing Emily’s story, and all of the goodness she has to share!
Emily likes to consider herself your ‘farmer friend’. She grew up in a small farming community just north of Madison, Wisconsin, and after going to college at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, she landed right back in her hometown after graduating college in May of 2020. While she didn’t grow up on a farm, she had memorable experiences from her grandparents’ dairy farm, 4-H, FFA, and working in a creamery. Ultimately, she knew that agriculture was where she was meant to be.
In college, Emily started dating her now-boyfriend, whose family farms in her hometown. She has many different “jobs” that allow her the freedom to live her rural-ish, farm girl life. She helps agricultural companies with their social media, works in their grain facility in the fall, assists with calf care on the farm, sells their beef direct-to-consumer, hosts farm camps and other events, creates content on her social media and farm YouTube channel. The list goes on and on, but basically, Emily does what she has to do to live a life she loves!
In this episode about redefining rural-ish living and cultivating change, we cover:
