It’s that time of year – we’re in the thick of the holiday season!
This time of year is both beautiful and magical in so many ways, but it’s also really, really hard. As women and mothers especially, we tend to have a LOT of extra things happening, so it’s easy to feel exhausted and stressed out. Having two very conflicting emotions (like joy and overwhelm in this season) is something we talk about often in our mastermind groups. You may feel like you’re alone when you’re experiencing these types of emotions (especially if you’re in a small town or rural community), but I promise you, you are not!
Since you’ve landed on this episode, I have no doubt that you’re the type of person who is being intentional about something. Maybe you’re focusing more on your health and wellness, starting your business, parenting your kids differently, going to therapy, or something else. You’re choosing to pursue growth and embrace something new, which is AMAZING..but also, tough.
In today’s episode, I want to talk more about how to stay centered and intentional over the holidays. There can be a very real and isolating feeling that happens when you’re shifting your identity, and/or doing something different, and you receive judgment or disapproval from family and friends. I want you to approach this season staying grounded and remaining confident in your choices-it’s important to remember WHY you’re doing what you’re doing. The more you live life on purpose in the way that makes sense for you, the more people around you will take note, and may want to do the same.
Don’t forget to be proud of all that you’re doing, and I hope you truly enjoy this holiday season!
In this episode about how to stay centered and intentional over the holidays, we cover:
- Staying grounded and having clarity in what you’re doing BEFORE you go into a space with your family and friends
- Understanding that most people are just trying to make conversation, and you’re not the only one who feels awkward and uncomfortable during holiday gatherings
- Knowing that you are in control of whose opinions actually hold weight for you, and you don’t need to listen to everyone’s advice
- The power in surrounding yourself with others who are on similar trajectories as you
- Why you shouldn’t dismiss the possibility of showing others your evolved and authentic self, and the positive impact you can leave on them
