Today’s episode marks the 2 year anniversary of Gather in Growth, and goodness..what a JOURNEY it has been!
Just 1 year ago I was talking about how my depth of understanding of growth had changed in my first year of podcasting; I honestly didn’t think I had any further to go, but boy, I was wrong! I started this podcast talking about goals, habits, etc., but after having so many life-changing conversations with guests on this show in the last 2 years, I’ve learned it is SO much bigger and deeper than that. I’m currently in the middle of a total refresh and rebrand with my show, and along with that, sooo much life has happened in this last year especially. Between welcoming my 3rd baby into our family, my entire house flooding at the very end of 2023, and not having consistent childcare (just to name a few), we have been in the THICK OF IT. I know you relate to all of this in some way or another, because I hear that in the conversations I’m having every day – we’re experiencing this evolution together!
In today’s episode, I want to talk about 5+ things that I’ve learned about personal growth since launch day, and really, where I see Gather in Growth going in the future. So often, we talk down on others (or turn against them all together), when they have different ideas/viewpoints, and are doing life differently. But you know what? People should evolve. Humans are forever learning and shifting their points of view – we should be stoked about this, because we’re never truly ‘done’ learning, evolving, and growing! Not everyone understands this though, or will even support you as you’re pursuing a new career path, parenting a different way, changing your health habits, etc. – they can only meet you to the depths in which they have met themselves. If you need encouragement, empowerment, and just real, authentic relationships from others who DO get it, there are plenty of people who are ready to hold space for you (I’m one of them)! I’ve also learned that while creating habits and achieving goals can be incredible, I’m now more passionate about what my ‘average Tuesday’ looks like, and if I’m actually doing work that both lights me up, and is sustainable for my family and I. If you’re noticing that you’re feeling ‘stuck’ in a certain area of your life, it’s time to address that, because it’s there for a reason, friend. For me, I now understand that every.single.thing. is connected to our nervous system; if we’re not emotionally regulated or healthy, it IS going to come out. We can’t ignore it, and choose to stay stressed the F out – that’s not how we’re meant to live!
If you can’t tell, I am on FIRE for this podcast now, more than ever. This era feels so authentic for where I am, and I have a totally new level of safety and confidence within myself. I know who I truly am, and I’m no longer trying to perfectly curate myself to fit the mold of who society wants me to be.
My hope and prayer for you is that this podcast inspires you to figure out who YOU really are. No one needs to redefine you or who you are – you just need to peel back the layers and really get to know yourself, and freaking OWN IT. I see you, I’m here for you, and as always, I’m forever grateful for you!!
