Listen to Breaking Out of Black-and-White Thinking on: Apple Podcasts | Spotify | Your player of choice
Today’s episode inspiration came from a recent conversation I had with someone from my community. She’s an avid podcast listener, and we actually ended up on a call together (which I LOVE when that happens)!
The concept of ‘black-and-white’ or ‘all-or-nothing’ thinking kept coming up for me after chatting with her. This is something that I’ve personally struggled with, and I know sooo many other women have as well, so I knew it was time to bring it here.
In today’s episode, I want to talk about breaking out of black-and-white thinking. For some reason, you think you only have two choices with EVERYTHING. You get stuck in these ‘extremes’ traps, and it’s like you can’t move forward until the ‘perfect’ conditions allow you to do so.
Society has led you to believe that everything is either black or white, but that couldn’t be FARTHER from the truth!
There is sooo much beauty in the ‘middle ground’, especially when you choose to commit to yourself and your dreams. Clarity comes through action – it’s not the other way around!
And no..it’s not going to look *just* like everyone else’s will, because you have to figure out what the best (and sustainable) path forward looks like for YOU.
The black-and-white thinking is prevalent and dangerous now, more than EVER. You’re made to believe that it’s ‘you vs. them’, ‘good vs. evil’, ‘right vs. left’, and so on.
But you know what?? The growth, opportunities, contentment, and pure happiness that comes from breaking FREE from this type of thinking is awaiting you on the other side!
At the end of the day, your story is YOURS to write. How beautiful is that?! Please know that I’m here with you on this journey – I’m no expert, but I know what it’s like to get uncomfortable, and challenge limiting beliefs. I’m so proud of what you’re doing, and am forever grateful for you!
In this episode, Breaking Out of Black-and-White Thinking, I cover:
- Why women get so stuck in the ‘all-or-nothing’ thinking
- Realizing that life is never *just* black and white + finding beauty in the ‘middle ground’
- Committing to yourself & your dreams so you CAN expand and make them happen
- Figuring out what a ‘good’ mom, wife, business owner, etc. means to YOU
- Praising women for being completely selfless + the fear of success that plagues so many women
- Why this ‘black-and-white’ thinking is even MORE prevalent now
- Reflecting on my path that ultimately led to the growth & purpose I have today
