If you’ve been here very long at all, you’ve probably heard me talk about what I like to call ‘The Great Flood of ‘23’, the event in which my ENTIRE house flooded right after Christmas (and in case you’re brand new here..now you know!) Since then, we’ve been rebuilding and renovating our house, and one of the spaces I’ve been really excited to update is our home gym. I’ve been envisioning my own little Barbie gym, and even my husband was on board with helping me bring it to life. What I was most excited about was creating this unique wall art with fun, vibrant colors!
Shortly after I started working on the walls though, I was feeling frustrated because I couldn’t “stay within the lines” using a tool I thought I needed to use to make it work. Honestly..it felt like I was going against what I naturally should be doing, and it wasn’t the way for me.
In today’s episode, I want to talk about wall art and intuition. Multiple times throughout my life, I’ve learned HOW important it is to lean into my own intuition, instead of playing by other people’s rulebooks. We all have that gut feeling, and little ‘inner knowing’, but so often, we’re afraid to tune into it (or we’ve forgotten how to). I even experienced this with my most recent Ascend retreat event, and the way I went about planning and marketing for it. While I believe it can be helpful to get other people’s perspectives, in the end, you have to be able to trust that you really DO know what’s best, and what will yield the most fruitful outcome.
For me and my journey, it’s become blatantly clear that whenever I try to ignore my intuition and go someone else’s way (whether that’s in business, motherhood, or something else), it never serves me well. Ultimately, I really want you to know that it’s TOTALLY okay to “go outside of the lines” in your life, and create something that beautifully makes sense for you – even if it doesn’t make sense to anyone else!
In this episode, Wall Art and Intuition, we cover:
- My recent experience with trying to create a fun and unique gym space in our (newly) renovated home, and my realization that came from this
- Leaning into your intuition and gut feeling, instead of playing by someone else’s rules and what they think you should do
- Opening registration and marketing for my Ascend retreat a year in advance, and the results that came from that
- Choosing to do things my own way with my entrepreneurial journey, the decisions I made as a first time mom, etc.
