I’m excited to welcome my new friend, Brittany MacLeod, as today’s podcast guest!
Brittany MacLeod is a fashion and lifestyle influencer and the owner of MacLeod Media, a social media marketing agency. She loves all things content creation, and supports her clients by taking their content from boring to buzzworthy, and putting them on the social media map. Brittany is exceptional at what she does, and she considers herself a multi-passionate soul. From being a wedding photographer to building a very successful interior design business (also very rapidly), she hasn’t been afraid to explore her passions over the years, and fully pursue entrepreneurship. Unfortunately, she also quickly learned that the ‘fear of failure’, and being judged by others, was controlling her more than she realized. After dealing with crippling anxiety, Brittany felt like God was calling her to step away from her design business, and the small town she grew up in near Nova Scotia, Canada. Ultimately, she found peace and healing in a completely new place, where nobody knew her, and was no longer concerned about what others would think of her life choices.
In today’s episode, Brittany and I discuss failing spectacularly, cycle curiosity, embracing seasons of life and entrepreneurship, and more. Even though it felt extremely scary for Brittany to leave her design business behind (especially since she had no idea of what the future held), walking through the worst-case scenario and the fear she built up was the best thing that could have happened. So often, failing spectacularly is just a stepping stone on the path of where we’re truly meant to go; it’s not something we need to avoid at all costs, and it can actually bring deep restoration for us. We also share our thoughts on the incredibly beautiful gift that is our menstrual cycle, and why it truly is a superpower for us as women! When we begin to normalize the conversation and choose curiosity surrounding our cycle, we’re able to fully step into our power. We shouldn’t feel like we have to hide our emotions, our menstrual cycles, or anything else that makes up our unique design – ALL of it can be leveraged for good in our lives!
Whatever season of life you’re currently in, it’s important to embrace this season, and think about what you actually need. Your goals don’t have an expiration date, and you also don’t have to wait for 20, 30, or 40 years from now to start living the life you actually want to live (contrary to what society will lead you to believe). If you’re ready for more purpose, joy, peace, health, and wealth, ALL of these things (and more) are possible for you to create, right where you are, RIGHT now!
